Caskey’s is a federally licensed firearm dealer, and complies with all federal, state, and local laws regarding firearm transfers.

Purchasing Requirements

At minimum, you must meet the following requirements to purchase a gun or pick up a pawned firearm.

• For handguns, be a resident of the Commonwealth of Kentucky for 90 days (see below for out of state purchase).
• Provide a state issued photo ID.
• Be at least 18 to purchase a long gun, or 21 to purchase a hand gun.
• No prior felony convictions or current indictments.
• No current restraint orders.
• No misdemeanor domestic abuse convictions.
• No dishonorable discharge from any branch of the United States of America armed forces.
• Pass an FBI NICS background check. Background checks normally require five to ten minutes. In rare cases, the purchase may be delayed up to three days.

Straw Purchase

It is unlawful to purchase or pick up a firearm for anyone not meeting purchase requirements.

Shipping and Receiving

State and federal law prohibits direct sale of handguns to non residents of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. However, you may purchase firearms from Caskey’s through another licensed dealer (and vise versa).

For example, if you are a resident of Ohio, you could purchase a handgun from Caskey’s through a licensed firearm dealer in Ohio. We will ship your purchase to the other dealer, and you would pick it up from them.

Most dealers are happy to perform this service for a nominal fee. Purchases are subject to all federal, state, and local laws applicable to your area. The other dealer may have additional requirements. Contact us for details.
