What is a pawn?

Pawns are short term loans made in exchange for some kind of collateral. The pawn broker holds on to the collateral item until you repay the loan plus interest and a service charge. If something happens and you can’t pay back the loan, the pawn broker keeps the item. Licensed pawn brokers are considered a financial institution just like a bank and are subject to similar regulations.

Walk Through

Pawning

  1. To get a loan, you will need some kind of collateral item and a photo ID.
  2. We will examine the item and make you an offer. You may accept, refuse, or take a smaller amount than our offer.
  3. We will take your contact information and collateral item, then loan you the agreed amount in cash.
  4. Loans are on 30 day terms. You are provided a ticket number for pick up later, it works exactly like a laundry ticket. The whole process takes less than five minutes.

Picking Up a Pawn

  1. Any time during the 30 day period you may pay the amount due, and we will return your collateral item. It’s that simple! In most cases if you brought your ticket, we can have you out the door in under a minute. Cash only to pick up a pawn.
  2. In the case of firearms, you’ll need to meet the same requirements as a firearm purchase.

Making Payments

After the first 30 days the loan will accrue a second period of fees, a third at 60 days and so on. If you are unable to pay back in full, you may pay the fees instead. This renews the time you have to pick up your item and helps avoid building up fees on your loan.

We will accept cash, Apple Pay, all major credit cards and payment over the phone for fees.

Default

If you do not pick up your pawn item or pay a service change, we will continue to hold your item up to 90 days. At the end of 90 days we will send you a courtesy notice though the mail.

If you do not pick up your item or pay at least one fee period within 15 days of the notice date, your loan is closed.

As always, if you have questions or an active pawn you are worried about, please contact us. We will do everything we can to work with you.
