{"id":200,"date":"2021-08-16T17:56:56","date_gmt":"2021-08-16T21:56:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/caskeys.com\/sporting\/?page_id=200"},"modified":"2021-08-22T11:19:28","modified_gmt":"2021-08-22T15:19:28","slug":"purchasing-firearms","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/caskeys.com\/sporting\/faq\/purchasing-firearms\/","title":{"rendered":"Purchasing Firearms"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Caskey&#8217;s is a federally licensed firearm dealer, and complies with all federal, state, and local laws regarding firearm transfers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Purchasing Requirements<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>At minimum, you must meet the following requirements to purchase a gun or pick up a pawned firearm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>For handguns, be a resident of the Commonwealth of Kentucky for 90 days (see below for out of state purchase).<\/li><li>Provide a state issued photo ID.<\/li><li>Be at least 18 to purchase a long gun, or 21 to purchase a hand gun.<\/li><li>No prior felony convictions or current indictments.<\/li><li>No current restraint orders.<\/li><li>No misdemeanor domestic abuse convictions.<\/li><li>No dishonorable discharge from any branch of the United States of America armed forces.<\/li><li>Pass an FBI NICS background check. Background checks normally require five to ten minutes. In rare cases, the purchase may be delayed up to three days. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Please <a href=\"https:\/\/caskeys.com\/sporting\/contact-us\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"11\">contact us<\/a> if you have any questions about picking up a gun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Straw Purchase<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It is unlawful to purchase or pick up a firearm for anyone not meeting purchase requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Shipping and Receiving<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>State and federal law prohibits direct sale of handguns to non residents of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. However, you may purchase firearms from Caskey&#8217;s through another licensed dealer (and vise versa).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, if you are a resident of Ohio, you could purchase a handgun from Caskey&#8217;s through a licensed firearm dealer in Ohio. We will ship your purchase to the other dealer, and you would pick it up from them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most dealers are happy to perform this service for a nominal fee. Purchases are subject to all federal, state, and local laws applicable to your area.
