My new laptop just arrived, and it is sweet! Yep, that’s about it. I just had to tell somebody. Oh and yes, it’s a PC. What? You Linux folks didn’t think I was going to throw away the old MCSE and join up with your kind did you? For shame. đ

Now lets see what I can do with it…
DC
Hey, I’m looking at getting an almost identical setup. Looks awesome by the way. I can’t tell when this picure was taken. How are you liking it so far?
So far I love it. I took this picture on same day as the blog post. As you can see from the spec list, its video card is kind of weak compared to the other hardware, but still does what I need it to do and with the replicator supports triple screening at max resolution (laptop plus the two monitors in that pic).
Make sure you get the solid state drive, it makes a huge difference. I put together a lot of HD videos with Adobe Master Collection (specifically Premiere); my old machine would need eight hours or so to encode a thirty minute video. This thing rips through it at the same speed as real time playback, and sometimes faster then that.
One last thing, order the backpack. As laptops go, it’s a monster. I have the backpack and the carry case; haven’t used the carry case once.
Are you saying that with the port replicator, you can run 2 seperate monitors, while at the same time use your laptop’s monitor? And if I’m reading your reply right, it pushes the U2410 monitor at it’s max resolution, correct?
Yep. All three monitors, including the laptop’s own, operating as a separate screen and at their optimum resolution. As an extra perk, you are not forced to use the laptop as your main; you can pick whichever monitor you like.

Hi, I have the same setup but it won’t let me run three monitors at the same time. It keeps switching one off?? Any idea what you did to make yours work?
Thanks
Erol
Not sure why that would be. Did you have all the drivers set up? I don’t believe the default Windows driver supports that card fully.
